MICRO-ENTERPRISE RESOURCE CENTER

The CADCOM Micro-Enterprise Resource Center is established to create opportunities for entrepreneurs in Montgomery County who are interested in developing new business prospects or capacity building for those who already own them.  Its Mission: To foster a supportive environment where established and emerging entrepreneurs will learn, connect and be inspired while developing and enhancing the business skills needed to be successful.

 

CADCOM offers a series of classes, business seminars and workshops in Montgomery County locations that provide training, resources and information useful to any aspiring or active business person

MERCs BYOB  Build Your Own Business to Be your own Boss
classes  utilize the federally approved Core Four Business Planning modules moderated by a seasoned business professional with over 40years experience in the business community. The Subjects covered in the accompanying text. Include: Success Planning, Market Planning, Operations Planning, Cash Flow Planning, and Business Plan Creation

Classes:

Held several times a year.  The 10-week sessions will provide direction for business start-ups and counseling and assistance to existing enterprises

The coursework will cover the Core Four Business Planning Concept of

  1. Success Planning

  2. Market Planning

  3. Operations Planning

  4. Cash Flow Planning

 

There is significant emphasis placed on formulating and drafting a viable business plan.

Eligibility

Any interested party is eligible to participate in the program. However fees are based on income.

Eligibility in based on income using a sliding scale. Scholarships are available for individuals with income at/or below 125% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. Other determination may be made by the Director of the program.

MERC is also responsible for the monitoring CADCOM's first Social Enterprise Universal Copy and Print a full service copy center offering a multitude of services to businesses and individuals and on-site training that prepares students for living wage careers in the print and copy industry

Program Background and Details

Since 1997 MERC has been working to promote self-sufficiency and alleviate poverty in Montgomery County, PA.  The Mission of MERC is to provide a comprehensive level of business development services and grow small businesses in Montgomery County, with particular concentration on the low-to moderate income communities.

Income Guideline

Income 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines, based on your last 30 days of income.

 

Fees

Tuition: $100.00.  Scholarships based on FPG (Federal Poverty Guidelines)

Veterans tuition will be waived upon proof of service.
